Review from Illinois Entertainer

Hi everyone!!
I wanted to share a really awesome review that I got from the Illinois Entertainer about The Back Room. Not only is it an awesome review, but it happens to be my first!!! Yay!! Good way to get started out of the gates! As you may know, it's been about two months since I left my day job so it's good to keep me going with positivity!! I am now working on getting some college shows and I will have some up on my schedule very soon. Till then, you can see me at Heartland Cafe in September, Coyote Art Festival in October, The Store on Halsted in November and Joe's Bar in December. Here is the review:
"Without a doubt, the star on Diana Rein’s album, The Back Room, is her evocative, lofty voice. Her delivery and range propel the bubbling opener, “You’ll Be Mine,” and lends grace and subtly to the title track. Her seductive vocals are matched with her superb guitar playing. Fiery leads on “Goodbye” show an acute sense of marrying melody with nimble technical acumen, and her flashy playing allows ample room for her songwriting to shine. (www.dianarein.com)"

They are off!

February 8, 2007 by dianarein.

So I went to the post office yesterday morning and sent off all of my materials to a duplication house in Texas. In about two weeks, I should have a huge shipment of 1,000 cd’s coming my way. I am really happy that it is all coming together now. It should be fun seeing how the road twists and turns once I have my whole little press kit going. If there’s one quote that I always say it’s “Everything happens for a reason.” I am a firm believer that everyone I meet, see, talk to, every place I go, visit, work at, every minute is supposed to be happening and every minute will lead me to something new, every intuition and gut instinct will lead me on a different path. Just gotta follow that gut! ~D

Mastering...

January 25, 2007 by dianarein.

Today was a very rewarding day. The album has been mastered and that is reason to celebrate. I am scheduled to shoot some photos for the cd art next week and as soon as that is done, it won’t be long until I can announce that the cd is finalized. I seriously have ants in my pants. I like to think that I am patient, or lie to myself that I am but when push comes to shove, I am crazy impatient!! I just want everyone to hear my music. I was having an inner battle trying to decide whether I should put some tunes on myspace or on my website and I decided to hold tight until everything is done. Oh the anticipation!!! My friends and family have all been patient with me during the last year especially. They have heard “the cd is almost done” for months now. Well, now it’s basically weeks away, I can see the light! I’ve got work to do tonight, I have to assemble all of the info that is going to appear in my liner notes, including the Thank You’s!
It’s really cold here in Chi-town. Bitter cold. I probably would never step out if I didn’t have to walk my dog! I swear, I need to move somewhere warmer because the cold weather is just not my friend. Luckily, I have side stepped getting a cold this winter. I hope to (knock on wood) keep that lucky streak going.
Bye,
D
